Three Shortlisted for Young Sports Personality Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
